Early Childhood and Computational Thinking
The Universidad del Norte and STEM-Academia (Colombian National Academy of Sciences) received seed capital from the OAS to launch an open online program for early childhood educators to integrate computational thinking concepts and practices into their classrooms. Since 2023, the Universidad del Norte has offered this program to more than six cohorts of teachers, with over 1,000 participants from different countries in each cohort. Creating Equitable CS Experiences
Creating Equitable CS Experiences was an online professional learning experience created as part of a research-practice partnership between the School of Education and CS Department at the University of Virginia, the Charlottesville City Public Schools and after-school nonprofits Tech-Girls and C4K. This free, asynchronous professional learning is designed to introduce K-8 educators, or anyone that works with youth, to computer science pedagogy and equitable teaching strategies that can be incorporated into any subject area.
