Early Childhood and Computational ThinkingThe Universidad del Norte and STEM-Academia (Colombian National Academy of Sciences) received a seed capital from the OAS to launch an open online program for early childhood educators to integrate computational thinking concepts and practices into their classrooms. The Universidad del Norte has offered this program to three cohorts of teachers, with more than 100 participants from different countries in each cohort. Creating Equitable CS ExperiencesCreating Equitable CS Experiences is an online professional learning experience created as part of a research-practice partnership between the School of Education and CS Department at the University of Virginia, the Charlottesville City Public Schools and after-school nonprofits Tech-Girls and C4K. This free, asynchronous professional learning is designed to introduce K-8 educators, or anyone that works with youth, to computer science pedagogy and equitable teaching strategies that can be incorporated into any subject area.
